Rayhan 'Ray' Chao Leung (born 13th November 1982, age 37) is an original character in the Lit forum serial drama The Avenue, portrayed by Jon Foo. He is a GP practice manager, the husband of late wife Fei Leung and streetwise 10-year-old daughter Jasmine Leung.
Ray is described as a laidback, well-meaning general practitioner and a jovial soul and popular figure within the Catford Grove community. Following the retirement of his predecessor, Ray has only just begun his new role as manager of the medical centre. This has caused a little friction between him and fellow GP Jo Wilkins, who also applied for the position. Jo is annoyed that Ray pipped her to the post because she has worked at the centre for longer, but Ray gained the role due to being seen as younger, more dynamic and having better and more recent qualifications than Jo. In time, Jo comes to accept Ray as her boss - but she isn't always convinced the best man won!
Ray is a loving father but also a bit of a workaholic and, whilst he worships his daughter, in truth he doesn't always give her the time and attention she needs.
